CERCCO

Experimentation and Research Centre for Contemporary Ceramics is the new proposal of the Geneva University of Art and Design.

Missions
The objective of the CERCCO is to solve the questions inherent in the realization with any project. It makes it possible to try out in an immediate way the evolution of research and to find solutions innovating. The CERCCO is specialized in materials of transformation: ceramics and polymers.

Experimentation
Research and experimentation are the permanent attitudes of the CERCCO. The fields of investigation include/understand the structure of materials, the methods of working, the composites, the manufacturing methods, the transfers of images and the new applications.

Realization
Realization is an essential stage in each project. The CERCCO offers fast solutions of realization making it possible to check the relevance of a concept by its physical reality. This work is carried out in network with the other workshops of the HES-SO.

Postgrads "REAL"
CERCCO is the Experimentation and Research Centre for Contemporary Ceramics of the Geneva University of Art and Design.

A new postgraduate programme "REALisation - Ceramics & Polymers" is opened in the framework of the CERCCO. It gives designers and artists the opportunity to complete their training and acquire technical, technological and aesthetic skills in the fields of ceramics and polymers.

The conversion from the project to the physical reality lies at the core of the REAL postgraduate programme. The know-how needed to realise specific and pertinent projects is acquired through the wide range of technical, artistic and communication skills offered by the programme.

The CERCCO provides exceptional technological equipment: in addition to workshops for ceramics, casting and firing, the postgraduates have access to a rapid prototyping workshop, with printers equipped with Ceramic-Laser-Copy-System, a 3D prototyping printer and a laser cut.

The REAL programme delivers a Diploma of Advanced Studies(30 ECTS)
